Zapier

Introduction

Zapier is a software as a service platform that essentially acts as a third-party integrator. Spektrix's integration with Zapier allows clients to connect their Spektrix systems with over 6,000 software platforms and centralize their data in Spektrix. This is done by creating configurable workflows, known as "Zaps," that automate repetitive import tasks and streamline workflows.

Overview

We’ve built an integration that utilizes the System Owner mode of our API. It allows each client's specific individual systems to perform actions available in the API. This integration primarily facilitates (but is not limited to) two different types of workflows:

  1. Customer Creation
    • Allows creation of Customer accounts including Tags, Attributes, Contact Preferences, etc.
  2. Order Confirmation
    • Allows writing back an order with Tickets, Donations, and/or Merchandise and then confirming them with a Custom Payment.

These flows have allowed a variety of different integrations with different types of software. Examples include:

  • Configurable Web Forms
  • Online Shops and Merchandise
  • Classes & Courses Platforms
  • Customer Support Management

Limitations

As noted above, the Zapier integration uses our API. This means that anything that is not currently available via the API will not be available to use in Zapier. Additionally, it also means that this will not facillitate new ways of extracting or otherwise exporting data from Spektrix systems. The best ways to handle larger, regular exports of data are covered here.
